NOTES: These do happen sporadically, and normally get resolved automatically. However, under certain conditions the situation can snowball and cause a temporary 'hang', which is resolved by stopping the webservers and allowing the database some time to recover. We continue to investigate the causes of deadlocks to reduce the probability of them occurring, however, they are not totally avoidable.
